UX, design and software for industrial products

What we do

We help industrial companies design and build digital products where safety and precision are critical, systems are complex, and every decision impacts operations, safety, and reliability in daily use. From embedded interfaces and configuration tools to web-based platforms and shared design systems.

We make advanced technology clear, efficient, and reliable to use — in real industrial environments.

Intunio Göteborg

We are based in Gothenburg, at the heart of one of Sweden’s strongest industrial clusters. We work closely with technology and product teams in industrial organizations, often located in Gothenburg and Western Sweden, where proximity and collaboration are key to how we work.

Our industrial experience

Our experience comes from long-term collaborations with established industrial companies such as Emerson, Autoliv, and Electrolux, where digital software is a core part of the product. For example configuration tools, monitoring solutions, and product-integrated interfaces that must remain reliable over long periods of time. We are often brought in when products and systems have evolved over many years, resulting in interfaces and structures that no longer reflect current needs. Our role is to introduce clarity, structure, and shared principles that make systems easier to understand, develop, and maintain — without compromising safety or technical requirements.

How we help industrial companies

Curious how this could work for your product or product portfolio?

UX for complex industrial systems We design user experiences for industrial products where users are experts, systems are advanced, and the context is often safety-critical. Here, UX is not about surface. It is about structure, clarity, and providing the right decision support at every step.

👉 Example: See how we work with structure, clarity, and accessibility in industrial products in the Emerson case — Accessibility and quality.

Our focus is on making complex information easy to interpret, prioritizing the right information at the right time, and creating logical flows that support real working processes. The work includes configuration and setup flows, monitoring, status and diagnostics, as well as tools for installation, service, and troubleshooting. All with the goal of reducing the risk of errors and shortening the learning curve.

Embedded UI and product-integrated interfaces We work with interfaces that are tightly integrated with hardware and technology. Where screen space, interaction possibilities, and performance are often limited. In these contexts, every design decision is directly linked to how the product is used in operation.

We have experience designing for small displays, product-integrated UIs, and hybrid interaction models where touch, physical buttons, and status indicators work together. Our work emphasizes clear information hierarchy, high readability, and robust interaction patterns that perform reliably under time pressure and in demanding environments.

Web-based industrial applications We design and evolve web-based applications for industrial products and platforms, where clarity, stability, and performance are essential. These are often tools for configuration, monitoring, and analysis, used alongside product-integrated interfaces.

👉 Example: Read how we took an industrial interface from idea to finished product in the Emerson case — From vision to reality.

Design systems for industrial product families Many industrial companies have product portfolios that have grown over time, often involving multiple teams, technical platforms, and visual expressions. The result is frequently inconsistent interfaces and unnecessary duplication of work.

We help establish design systems that create a shared foundation for product-integrated software and web-based tools. With clear components and principles that ensure consistency and scalability over time.

Industry in transition — why UX matters

A new generation of operators, technicians, and engineers now expects the same clarity and usability in industrial tools as in other digital products. At the same time, many industrial markets have reached a high level of technical maturity, making user experience an increasingly important differentiator in everyday work. Deep dive: Emerson

Since 2021, we have partnered with Rosemount Tank Radar AB, part of Emerson, on user experience for their industrial software. The work spans product-integrated interfaces, configuration and monitoring tools, and the long-term development of shared principles for design and usability. How we work in industrial engagements

We work as an extension of our clients’ teams, with a strong focus on long-term collaboration and trust. Common requirements in industrial projects with long lifecycles and complex dependencies.

• Close collaboration with product owners, engineers, and development teams

• Design decisions grounded in real user needs

• Focus on sustainability, maintainability, and long-term quality
