For smaller, bounded projects we offer fixed price. Intunio has long experience of design and development projects, and of producing detailed estimates. You get a price, a spec, and a deadline you can plan against.
Fixed price fits when the scope is well-defined and quality requirements can be described in advance. It's often the right model for demos, POCs, pre-studies, design system foundations, and audits. Pricing is quoted based on an estimate we develop with you before we start. The estimate is calculated at 995 SEK/h, the same rate as in Team retainer, since fixed price is paid in milestones with a portion in advance.
For larger or continuous work, we recommend Team retainer, our main model.
Demos and POCs. The most common use. Tech demos for industrial companies in IoT and automation, sales demos for B2B SaaS, concept demos for investors or boards, AI feature demos in existing products. Time-pressured, scoped, designed to convince. We've delivered many of them and know what the estimation should look like.
Pre-studies. From rough idea to first buildable version, with concept and technical plan. Defined in time, clear deliverable. Often a first step before a longer engagement.
Design system foundation. The first version of a design system — variables, tokens, core components, documentation. Typically eight to twelve weeks. Then scaled out via a continuous Team retainer engagement.
Audits and expert reviews. WCAG audits, UX expert reviews, architecture reviews. Defined in scope, delivered as a report or action plan.
Specific feature deliveries. A new flow, a new view, a specific function in an existing product. When the scope is clear and you want a price you can plan against.
Our estimation process is where the value is created. A detailed estimate means the fixed price is thought through — not a guess with margin.
Dialogue and workshop. Two to four hours with you. We understand the need, the goal, the context, the decision paths. Not just what you want delivered, but why and for whom.
Breakdown into tasks. We break the project down into concrete tasks — design steps, development steps, meetings, deliveries, review rounds. Each task gets a time estimate grounded in previous projects and the team's experience.
Spec on what's included. The result is a specification describing what you get, what's not included, what deliveries look like, what assumptions we made, what risks exist. The spec is your contract throughout the project — the reference we go back to if anything needs to be prioritised or added.
Risk analysis and buffer. We identify where uncertainty is highest, describe what happens if assumptions don't hold, and build in a buffer proportional to the risk. No hidden margins — risk handling is visible in the spec.
Fixed price. When the estimate is done, you get a price and a deadline. Within that we deliver what's in the spec.
What we call "detailed estimation" takes more work than just putting time on tasks. It's how we can stand by fixed prices with confidence, even in complex projects.
Fast start from brief to breakdown. We go from your brief to a first breakdown in tasks and phases in hours — where it used to take days. That means faster control questions, earlier insight into where the risks are, and a shared starting point we iterate on with you.
Comparison against previous projects. We have two decades of project work behind us — our founders have worked in the industry since the early 2000s. We systematically compare the current need against previous estimates: "this kind of design system foundation took X hours last time", "this API work resembles something we've done three times before." More complete than we could ever do manually.
Exhaustive scope analysis. A common trap in fixed price is missing edge cases that surface mid-project. We go through all user states, all error messages, all possible inputs, all integration points — as exhaustively as possible. More of the scope is visible in the estimate, fewer surprises in delivery.
Feasibility tests during estimation. For uncertain assumptions we build mini-prototypes already during estimation, using AI tools like Cursor and Codex. Instead of guessing whether a specific API integration works, or whether a UI pattern fits your stack, we can test it before we set the price. That reduces risk on both sides.
Faster delivery. The deep estimate translates into a faster delivery. When we know exactly what to do, we go straight to the right work — no long discussions in the middle of the project. We also use AI tools in delivery itself — for code generation, review, design system iteration, and documentation. The fixed price is both more realistic and delivered sooner.
It's not a trick — it's method. 20 years of experience combined with modern tools means we can go deeper in every estimate. The result is fixed-price offers that are realistic, deliveries that land, and projects that actually cost what we said they would.
A fixed price. Confirmed in the offer. No surprises.
A clear spec. The reference describing what we deliver, what's not included, what deliveries look like. Use it as a steering document throughout the project.
Responsibility for delivery. We take responsibility for the project landing on time and at the right quality. If something in our estimate turns out wrong, it's our risk.
Access to all of Intunio. Even in a fixed-price project, you get the team behind — design leadership, technology leadership, specialists via Extended Team if needed. It's not a one-person operation.
Quoted per engagement. Set based on the detailed estimate we develop together. The estimate is calculated at 995 SEK/h — the same best rate as in Team retainer, since fixed price is paid in milestones with a portion in advance.
Milestones or staged payments. Two to four milestones are common — typically signing, halfway, and delivery. We adapt to your cash flow preference.
Scope changes handled as additions. If you want to add or change during the project, we produce an updated estimate on just that addition and agree on price and deadline before we move on. No quiet scope drift — every adjustment is transparent.
What's included. Time, AI tools, design tools, collaboration tools. No hidden costs. Any travel is invoiced separately by agreement.
Fixed price works for bounded deliverables — but for larger or continuous work, Team retainer gives more value. Some signs that Team retainer is right:
The scope can't be defined clearly upfront, it has to develop over time.
The needs are iterative — you want the team to respond to what comes up.
The engagement will run over several months and the mix of competence needs to change.
You want a partner who lives with the product, not a deliver-and-leave model.
You want an upper cost limit but ongoing flexibility — then a price cap within Expert consultants is often better than fixed price.
For smaller, defined deliverables, fixed price is often right. For continuous work, Team retainer is.
One to two weeks once we have enough material. Workshop with you, internal breakdown, spec writing, risk analysis. The AI support means we can go deep without estimation becoming long — that's where the technology helps us most.
For smaller projects the estimation is included in the proposal. For larger or more complex projects we invoice the estimation work separately — but then that cost is deducted if we go forward with the project. You don't pay twice.
995 SEK/h — the same best rate as in Team retainer. Since fixed price is paid in milestones with a portion in advance, we can calculate at our lowest hourly rate.
It's our risk. If we've estimated wrong within the defined scope, we still deliver at the price we said. That's why the estimation is so important — we go deep so the risk is low.
We do a mini-estimate on just the addition and agree on price and deadline for it. No quiet changes. Everything is transparent.
Yes. Cursor and Codex for code work, Claude for design system iteration and documentation, AI support for review and testing. It's part of how we can deliver fixed price with confidence — we're faster than traditional agencies, both in estimation and delivery.
Yes. Demos are one of our most common fixed-price deliveries. We've done them under hard time pressure — for trade shows, sales meetings, investor presentations. We know which shortcuts are OK and which aren't.
Depending on the project. Demos and pre-studies often have one designer and one developer. Design system foundations a designer and sometimes a technology lead. Larger projects have a complete team. We set the composition that fits the delivery.
Tell us about your project and your needs, and we'll come back with a concrete recommendation.
