About the project
Arena by MIT is a versatile physical access management platform, designed to accommodate organizations of all sizes—from small businesses to large enterprises. For end users, unlocking doors or booking resources like washing rooms or sports facilities is just a few taps away. One of Arena’s key strengths is that everything runs directly in the browser. This makes the system accessible on virtually any device and removes the need for installations or manual updates.
Simple access
At the entrance, a QR code takes the user directly to the unlocking interface. It can be accessed via the web app's built-in scanner or through the phone's standard camera. Users get a clear overview of all available features in one place. For visitors without access, a door phone feature with a searchable resident directory enables quick and intuitive contact. The goal was to make physical access as seamless as a modern digital service.
Powered by variables
The Arena design system is built from the ground up using Figma variables across multiple layers, allowing for rapid design adjustments and effortless theme customization. Currently, the system supports both dark and light modes, but it’s fully equipped to accommodate partner-specific color palettes and typography.
Arena's brand
Arena is positioned as an all-in-one solution for property access. The platform covers door access, intercom, booking of shared spaces, sensors, surveillance, alarms, lighting, and more. We developed a brand identity that reflects this cohesive ecosystem. At its center is the Cloud Key symbol, representing digital access to physical spaces. The symbol's simplicity makes it work equally well in digital interfaces and physical environments. Combined with a distinct color palette and modern, legible typography, it creates an expression that is both distinctive and functional.
Painless tenant administration
Behind the scenes, a robust and scalable admin dashboard equips supervisors with the tools to efficiently manage large user groups across multiple locations or organizations.
