Intunio specialises in WCAG and accessibility. We build accessibility into websites, apps, and design systems from the ground up, as part of quality itself.
Intunio is a design and development studio based in Gothenburg, working with accessibility on websites, in apps, and in the design systems that hold the products together. We carry out WCAG audits and accessibility reviews, EAA assessments, design system integration, and team training. For Intunio, accessibility is part of quality, built in from the start.
For concrete packages and pricing, see our WCAG and EAA audit service.

At Intunio, accessibility is part of how we think when we shape interfaces: contrast, structure, clear feedback, predictable interaction. When it's there from the start, it becomes part of quality itself, not a separate project alongside it.
In practice, that means accessibility comes in during the pre-study, shapes the design system foundation, and follows all the way down to individual components. It's part of every discussion about how a component should look, feel, and behave.
It's also why accessibility work rarely feels difficult when we're involved from the start. Friction almost always appears when it comes in late, after the design is set, the structure decided, and the technical choices made. Then components have to be reworked and priorities reassessed. It's not that accessibility conflicts with quality. It's that the perspective came in too late.
Accessibility on the web is a relatively mature area. WCAG guidelines are detailed, and most tools provide good support. The biggest challenge is often consistency: keeping the implementation solid across an entire site as the design system grows and multiple teams contribute.
On the app side, the conditions are tighter. The platforms' built-in accessibility tools (VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android) are powerful, but they only do their job when the design is structured correctly. Cross-platform frameworks like Flutter and React Native sometimes have subtle issues that don't surface until a user actually navigates with a screen reader.
Embedded UI and industrial interfaces add another dimension. Users often work under time pressure, in environments with noise and movement, sometimes wearing gloves. Screen readers are only part of accessibility here. Just as important: contrast that works in bright light, touch areas that work with gloves, feedback that doesn't get lost in background noise. That's where "accessibility as quality" becomes most tangible — in industrial systems, accessibility almost completely overlaps with safety and operational reliability.
The biggest leverage sits in the design system. When the foundation is right from the start (colour palettes, typography, focus rings, interaction states), most accessibility issues are solved before they arise in individual components.
We help teams establish that level. Colour variables with controlled contrast. Component patterns with clear focus states and correct semantic properties. Documentation that explains why, not only what. It's an investment that pays back every time a new component or flow is built.
For clients who already have a design system, we can audit the system itself, not only the products that use it. That's where the root causes sit.

The industries we work with most often are industrial, medtech, SaaS, and e-commerce — all subject to EAA requirements, each with different priorities.
We apply a discounted hourly rate for monthly agreements: you pay the month's estimated cost in advance, and get a price you can plan around. No commitment beyond the current month. The model applies to all our services.
We use Claude, Cursor, and Codex to make all our work more efficient — in review work, design work, and code. It's our expertise working faster.
For concrete packages and timeframes, see our WCAG and EAA audit service.
Someone in the organisation raises the EAA, a user reports that the product doesn't work with a screen reader, or a review shows that the situation needs to be mapped. An audit then provides the starting point. See our audit service.
That's when accessibility can be built into the foundation, which is the cheapest and most effective time to do it.
perhaps because a customer requires it, perhaps because you want to reach a broader user group. A focused audit with an action plan is then the right tool.
In all three cases the starting point is the same: accessibility isn't an add-on. It's a sign that quality has been part of the work all along.
Intunio is based in Gothenburg, on Korsgatan 24 in the city centre. For clients in Gothenburg and Western Sweden, proximity is an important part of the collaboration. Workshops, check-ins, and informal meetings often happen on-site at your place or ours, which gives a kind of continuity that's hard to achieve with fully remote teams. It also matches our model: we become an extension of your team over time, not an external supplier.
Yes. Intunio has had continuous engagements with clients in Sweden, Europe, and North America throughout our history. We have particular experience with clients in the US and Canada, so working across time zones is part of our normal rhythm. WCAG audits, EAA assessments, action plans, and design system work are mostly carried out remotely, complemented by workshops and on-site reviews where it's valuable.
As the foundation, not an add-on. Colour variables with the right contrast from the start. Component patterns with focus states as the default. Documentation that explains why, not only what. When the foundation is right, most accessibility questions resolve themselves before they reach individual components.
On the web, WCAG support in frameworks and tools is mature. On native apps, the platforms provide powerful built-in accessibility tools (VoiceOver, TalkBack), but the design has to be structured correctly for them to work. Cross-platform frameworks sometimes have subtle issues. The audit work is therefore tech-specific — and we have experience with all three.
AI tools are included in the rate. We use Claude, Cursor, and Codex where they make the work better, both in review work and in design and development. That means you get faster delivery at the same price. It also means quality is built on long experience of combining AI with expert knowledge, not on trying to solve accessibility with a chat prompt.

Inom tillgänglighet bygger vi in accessibility i webb, appar och designsystem från grunden, så att rätt val är default när nya komponenter och flöden tar form.
